Vasantha Nugegoda

Zoologist and Animal Habitat Specialist

Vasantha was formerly in charge of animal management in Singapore's Night Safari and the coordinator for Singapore native animal reintroduction group. He was also Director, Zoology for the international Zoo consultancy firm Bernard Harrison and Friends. His past experience includes stints at Dehiwala Zoo (as General Curator) and London Zoo, where he obtained an Advanced Certificate in Animal Management and train and attended many international zoo seminars & conferences. Vasantha’s earlier fieldwork was as a Research Assistant with the Smithsonian Institution. He has consulted for the worlds second Night Safari in China and the 3rd in Chiangmai, Thailand. At present he consults to zoos and private developers in England, the Middle East and Singapore. He is a member of the IUCN otter specialist group and Animal Reintroduction Group and is a scientific Fellow of the Zoological society of London.
